We met at the steps of the New York Public Library on 5th Avenue and moved past the crowds of tourists inside for our first runway show as buyers, not just photographers. Reem Acra debuted her Fall 2018 collection of designer wedding dresses at the iconic Manhattan landmark to much fanfare from the crowd of wedding insiders, magazine editors and buyers – including us! Jessica took her usual spot in the photo pit to get great images of course and Haley sat alongside the other retailers in the seats on the runway. That night kicked off a whirlwind week of shows, meetings and buying appointments as we pieced together the selection of dresses for our ideal Jessica Haley Brides.

As soon as we decided to launch our very own bridal boutique, we immediately set out to source the perfect collection of designers to showcase in our shop. Our goal was to create a balanced set of wedding gowns from well known iconic designers like Reem Acra and designers with a smaller footprint in other boutiques around us like Antonio Riva, Lea-Ann Belter and Julie Vino, but with equally gorgeous and fashion forward gowns. Our experience photographing several seasons of Bridal Fashion Week gave us extra insight into designers that would be a great fit for our market and style of wedding dress shop. We also knew personally some incredible designers from around the world and couldn’t wait to bring them to our brides!

Attending October market week as buyers for the first time was a fun new experience for us! We saw the runway shows like always but also held our own private appointments to touch and feel the dresses and put together the pieces of our final launch day collection. We built our shop around designers from around the world who make their gowns in their own studios, who are experts at their own signature styles, whose pieces are classic yet unexpected with fashion forward aesthetic!

Our brides value the artistry of their wedding gown design. They’re classic yet fashion forward at the same time. They want to look iconic, not like anyone else. They want to wow their guests with unexpected details as they walk down the aisle for the first time. They’re the ultimate bride.
