It’s been a year since we started our search for the perfect location for our new Westchester Bridal Boutique. We developed a clear vision for our perfect wedding dress shop, now our challenge to find the perfect space began. Our search started in Rye and the surrounding towns on the New York side of the Connecticut border. Hoping to find something where we could fulfill our desire to create a luxurious, personalized boutique in a small town setting with easy access to New York City and brides coming to see us on the train from Manhattan or Connecticut.

Lucky for us, the perfect little spot opened up just in time for us to build our boutique – the old Wine at Five shop on the east end of Purchase Street – just a short walk from the Rye Metro North Train Station and in the heart of the downtown shops – began building a new location in town and needed a new tenant. We loved the long open space, the tall ceilings with original tin paneling and the nice hardwood floor. The space had great bones – it just needed some TLC and a creative plan!

Here’s a look back at where we started…

We sketched vision after vision as we planned the space… we papered the windows and put up our ‘Coming Soon’ sign…

Slowly, it started to come together… we painted over the old yellow walls, refinished the hardwood floors, added molding to the baseboard and removed the old lighting track and ceiling fans – we restored the antique tin ceiling… my favorite part!

It was a whirlwind install when all the pieces of the puzzle arrived just before our open date – the custom mirrors with inset lighting, the new overhead lights and the adjustable dress racks. The exterior paint and signage and the new front door were the final steps!

The dresses in, the window display ready… all that’s left is to reveal the space and tear down the window paper…

Here is what we turned it into! The final look at the fully remodeled store – we love how everything turned out!
